The concert begins at 7 p.m. Dec. 4 at St. Alban’s, 21405 82nd Pl. W., Edmonds. Donations of cash or non-perishable food will be collected at the door.
Chase Lake Safety Net works to reduce hurdles to success caused by poverty, homelessness, and family disruption. They provide immediate emergency help with basic needs (food, clothing, transportation) as well as family advocacy and help connecting with community providers. The goal is to ensure a safe and stable environment to students so they can focus on their education.
During the last school year, the program:
- sent home 746 wheeled backpacks full of groceries for students and their families.
- provided food baskets, gift cards, and winter coats to 55 of the school’s families during the winter holidays.
- gave out 2,638 after-school snacks to homeless students before their long rides home.
- distributed 51 emergency gift cards to families for food, household items or fuel.
The evening concert will feature contemporary Celtic music with Windham Hill/ArkMusic recording artists Jeff Johnson on keys and vocals; Brian Dunning, flutes and whistles; Wendy Goodwin, violin and Eric Miller on guitar.
