Reminder: Gifts for Birds and Birders, work party at Edmonds Demo Garden this weekend

The Edmonds Wildlife Habitat Native Plant Demonstration Garden is hosting two events this Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 9-10: A volunteer work party sponsored by Earth Corps Dec. 9 and a Gifts for Birds and Birders workshop Dec. 10.

Here are the details:


Saturday, Dec. 9, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.: Work party sponsored by EarthCorps. Everyone is welcome to come and help with planting, blackberry removal and garden cleanup. Parental permission required for those under 18. Training, supervision, gloves and tools and snacks and water will be provided for all workers. Dress for the weather. You may sign up in advance with or just come to the Demo Garden at 10 a.m.

Sunday, Dec. 10, 1-3 p.m.: Gifts for Birds and Birders with Cindy Easterson of Pilchuck Audubon and the Puget Sound Bird Observatory. Choose a single project or tackle all five unique gifts, which include bird-themed coasters, window clings, decorated clips and seeded treats. This event is free and suitable for all ages. No registration required. The workshop will be in the Demo Garden’s Willow Creek Hatchery Education Building.
