Get ready to say brrr.

The annual Edmonds Polar Bear Plunge is on for 1 p.m. New Year’s Day at Brackett’s Landing, with hundreds of hardy souls expected to make the traditional dip in Puget Sound.

As we reported earlier, the Edmonds Uplift Society has closed its membership books and is retiring the signature white bathrobes that have been part of the plunge tradition. However, both Edmonds Uplift Society members and non-members who are wearing a robe over their swimwear are welcome to Daphnes Bar at noon Monday, Jan. 1, to participate in the traditional Rainier Beer toast and singing of God Bless America,

All those who participate in the Polar Bear Plunge are encouraged to make a donation to the Edmonds Historical Museum.
