Ugly Sweater Contest generates donation to YWCA’s Pathways for Women

Thanks to the creative costuming of Edmonds Police Sgt. Shane Hawley, winner of the Ask the Cop Ugly Christmas Sweater contest, the YWCA’s Pathways for Women received a check for $200 Friday from My Edmonds News. In the photo, from left, are Kresha Green, Housing Services Program Manager and Karen Carson, Homeless Services Advocate, for Pathways for Women; Shane Hawley in his winning sweater; and My Edmonds News Publisher Teresa Wippel. Pathways for Women is a YWCA outreach program that provides housing and services for domestic violence victims.
  1. As Homelessness continues to be a major issue across our cities it always blesses my Soul, when any type of donation is given for the cause, and it does not have to be a Million dollars to be appreciated. It’s just as simple as your time, a Hotdog, a umbrella or even the coat off your back.
    I thank you!!
