Edmonds police are seeking a suspect in a Tuesday morning attack on a 35-year-old Edmonds woman jogging in the 8800 block of Bowdoin Way.
According to Edmonds police spokesman Sgt. Shane Hawley, the victim — who wasn’t injured — was jogging at 6:55 a.m. when she heard someone run up behind her, grab her around the shoulders and throw her on the ground. “The woman fought back when the man came in over the top of her, kicking him several times and screaming loudly,” Hawley said.
The man ran off westbound on Bowdoin Way. The woman ran to a home in the area to get help and call 911.
“Our patrol units flooded the area and a K9 track was attempted but the man was not located,” Hawley said.
The man was described as a white male, 5-foot-10 to 6 feet, wearing a light-colored hooded sweatshirt and gray sweats.
A neighbor in the area provided video of a person of interest in the area after the attack. His clothing is similar to what was described by the victim. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Edmonds Police Department 425-775-3000 or send tips online at www.epdtips.edmondswa.gov.
