With a strong defensive effort on Wednesday, the Edmonds-Woodway Warriors gave themselves another opportunity to play Friday with hopes of extending their 2017-2018 season even further.

The Warriors held the Everett Seagulls to single-digit scoring in both the second and third quarters and defeated the Gulls 64-41 in a District 1 3A Boys Basketball Tournament loser-out game at Edmonds-Woodway High School.

E-W outscored Everett 21-7 in the second quarter, 14-8 in the third and held the Seagulls to their season-low points production of the year.

Mutdung Bol led the Warriors with 16 points; Michael Epoch and Uchenna Acholonu added 14 and 12 points respectively.

With the win, E-W moves on to another district tournament loser-out game on Friday, Feb. 16, when they will take on the Arlington Eagles; tip-off at Jackson High School is scheduled for 7:45 p.m. If the Warriors can snag a victory, they will play Saturday, Feb. 17, for third place in the district tourney and a berth in the regional round of the WIAA 3A state tournament.
