Scene in Edmonds: Nighttime at the beach

About 100 people of all ages enjoyed a minus 1.1 low tide on Monday evening during the Starlight Beach Walk conducted by the City of Edmonds Discovery Programs and the WSU Snohomish County Extension Beach Watchers. According to photographer Doug Parrott, “Very knowledgeable guides were available to help identify the various animals and plants discovered. Hot chocolate was served to ward off the chilly evening.” This program was co-sponsored by the Snohomish County Marine Resources Advisory Committee and Surface Water Management Division.

  1. Thanks for these, especially the Sea Star. I’ve heard that Sea Stars might be making a slow comeback from the sea star wasting disease epidemic. I would sure love to have them bounce back and be as common again on our Edmonds beaches as they were a decade ago.
