Scene in Edmonds: A shot of seawater, extra foam

Photographer Doug Parrott noticed this sea foam build-up in the Brackett’s Landing area Sunday and discovered here that it’s created “by the agitation of seawater, particularly when it contains higher concentrations of dissolved organic matter derived from sources such as the offshore breakdown of algal blooms.” Parrott noted that the foam “didn’t dissuade the divers any, they were out in force.”
