A student representative is being sought to serve on the Edmonds Citizens’ Tree Board. The Tree Board actively encourages the planting, protecting and maintaining of trees for long-term community benefit.
“The Tree Board is a great community resource,” Chair Doug Peterson recently noted, “and the student representative position is a special opportunity. We don’t currently have a student on the Tree Board and look forward to filling the position soon.”

Student representatives must live within the Edmonds city limits, and be attending either high school or college. Preferred interests include: urban forestry, horticulture, and habitat enviroscaping.
The selected student typically serves one school year and may have the term renewed. Tree Board meetings are held the first Thursday of each month, starting at 6 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, Public Safety Complex, 250 5th Ave. N, Edmonds. Members have the option of assisting with special events, such as tree planting for Arbor Day.

Applications must be submitted to the City by 4:30 p.m. Friday, March 23.
