Edmonds police reported only minor injuries in this vehicle-vs.-train collision Wednesday night.

According to police, a 76-year-old Edmonds woman tried to beat the train at the Railroad Avenue and Dayton Street crossing at 8:48 p.m. When she went around crossing arms, she became stuck.

A slow-moving train struck the car, police said. A 25-year-old Edmonds woman was also in the vehicle as a passenger.

  1. Thank goodness it was not an oil train traveling at speed. That “accident” is inevitable, and it will be bad.
