Scene in Edmonds: Spring Fest draws shoppers


Edmonds’ Civic Center Field on Saturday played host to Spring Fest, sponsored by Urban Craft Uprising. A Seattle craft show institution since 2005, the group now produces 20-plus shows each year, with the goal of showcasing indie crafters.

This is the first time the group has been in Edmonds, and event organizers said Saturday they were pleased with the turnout.

Items available for sale at the 82 booths ranged from natural-fiber clothing to artisan baked goods to hand-made soaps to jewelry.

  1. This was a wonderful event and I hope that Urban Craft Uprising will return to Edmonds. It brought a breath of fresh air to the art/craft festival scene in our seaside town. I hope that many of the local Edmonds retailers will consider carrying the products that these vendors handcraft. They hold events in the Puget Sound region all summer. Check them out at:
