“Because the 5K Run benefits homeless children in the Edmonds area through Washington Kids in Transition, we want to get as many kids and family members to join us and support these deserving children,” said David Kaufer, president-elect of The Rotary Club of Edmonds, organizer of the Edmonds Waterfront Festival. “Our goal for 2018 is to have 100 kids in the run, so we’re introducing a competition among local elementary school classes for a pizza party prize.”

Thanks to Pizza Hut, one class from each school below that signs up the most runners will receive $25 worth of pizza. When participants register for the run, they may designate their child’s school and class. Any/all friends, families and others who sign up to run may also refer to this school/class on the registration form to help them win.

The following Edmonds-area schools eligible for the pizza party:

  • Chase Lake
  • Edmonds Elementary
  • Edmonds Heights
  • Madrona
  • Maplewood
  • Picnic Point
  • Seaview
  • Serene Lake
  • Sherwood
  • Westgate
