Reminder: Edmonds Lutheran Church to host July 12 community meeting on housing development

Phase I of the church project is now underway, with the siting of a steel-modular Blokable ‘Blok” unit. The unit is connected to utilities and is a fully-functional studio apartment home.

Edmonds Lutheran Church is hosting an Edmonds Affordable Housing community meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 12, at the church, located at 23525 84th Ave. W.

The church and Compass Housing Alliance are partnering to create a housing development for low-income individuals and families. Sited at Edmonds Lutheran Church, the Compass Housing Alliance development will feature steel-frame construction from Blokable. The development will begin with the siting of a single Blokable ‘Blok’ unit in July 2018. (See My Edmonds News coverage here.)

The community meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. Coffee and refreshments will be provided. Presentations will begin at 7 p.m. and will conclude with a question-and-answer session.

  1. Hope you can go in the Blokable unit at the open house. It’s installed now. This is cool. I’m more interested in the architecture and design.

  2. I am very excited for this new venture that Edmonds Lutheran is undertaking—I cannot make it to the community meeting but hope to have a tour at some time–Fully support what you are doing and am so glad Edmonds citizenry are undertaking this.
