Reminder: Edmonds police open house July 26

The Edmonds Police Department and Edmonds Police Foundation will be holding their annual open house on Thursday, July 26, from 6-8 p.m. at the Edmonds Police Station, 250 5th Ave. N.

Those attending can meet Ace, the department’s newest K-9 officer and his new friend Hobbs, the current police dog. Ace will be demonstrating what he has learned from his recent training. The police foundation purchased Ace using funds donated by the community.

The open house will also feature a children’s coloring contest. Each child participating in the contest or attending the event will receive a free gift, while supplies last. Prizes will be awarded for the best picture colored.

There will also be displays of Edmonds Police equipment including police vehicles, motorcycles and parking enforcement as well as vehicles from South Snohomish Fire & Rescue.

Guided tours of the police station will be available for adults and children.

In addition, adults are invited to participate in a raffle for ridealongs with the K-9 unit and police officers, and for a session in the PRIsm Simulator used for training officers.
