Described as “a fantasy draft of Australia’s finest singer-songwriters — Elana Stone, Katie Wighton, Hannah Crofts and Georgia Mooney — combining in four-part indie-folk harmony heaven,” All our Exes Live in Texas is coming to the Edmonds-Center for the Arts Wednesday, Aug. 29 at 7:30 p.m.
“On mandolin, ukulele, accordion and guitar, the Exes are a powerhouse of charm and songwriting prowess,” an ECA announcement of their performance says. The group is presented as part of Edmonds Center for the Arts’ (ECA) Summer Engagement series.
Known as much for their side-splitting banter and feminist politics as their devastatingly beautiful harmonies, All Our Exes Live in Texas have had an impressive career to date. In 2017, the band won the ARIA award for Best Blues & Roots Album for their critically-acclaimed debut When We Fall. In the same year, the artists went home with “Folk Act of the Year” at both the National Live Music Awards and AU Review Awards. Songs from the album were nominated for the Vanda & Young Songwriting Competition and APRA Song of the Year.
All Our Exes Live in Texas is the final performance in ECA’s 2018 Summer Engagement series. The evening will kick off with happy hour bar service, concessions and giant lawn games on ECA’s outdoor patio from 5:30-7 p.m.
ECA’s 2018/19 Season is sponsored by Lynnwood Honda and Windermere Real Estate Edmonds. All Our Exes Live in Texas is sponsored by Carlson Family Dentistry and Main Street Electric.
