Volunteers from Edmonds-based First Financial Northwest Bank and the Edmonds Young Professionals group were among those who assisted with YWCA of King and Snohomish County’s School Days school supply and backpack drive.
Volunteers recently packed 135 backpacks, said Annalee Schafranek, the YWCA’s public relations and marketing manager. Edmonds Welcomers, Caliber Home Loans, and individual donors also provided school supplies and monetary donations.
“We are so thankful for our volunteers and donors who make this possible,” Schafranek said.

All supplies go to children in YWCA programs or children of parents in YWCA programs “so that they can start the school year feeling prepared and confident,” Schafranek added.
