Olympic View Water & Sewer District’s senior water treatment plant operator, Scott Dunn, was recognized on Sept. 10 for reaching the Silver Level of the Washington State Department of Health’s Treatment Optimization Program (TOP).

The recognition occurred during the Board of Commissioners meeting and was presented by Erika Lindsay, Department of Health Regional Engineer.

The TOP program recognizes water treatment plants who have exceeded Department of Health drinking water standards for five consecutive years. Olympic View is one of 17 water suppliers in the state that have reached or exceeded this level of service.

Deer Creek Treatment Plant has been providing drinking water for the area since before 1986 and currently provides almost 40 percent of all water consumed within Olympic View Water & Sewer District. Scott Dunn has been with the District since 1992.

The Board of Commissioners congratulated Dunn and his team of operators on their continued efforts to not only meet but exceed drinking water standards for the customers of the water district. More information is available at www.doh.wa.gov/Portals/1/Documents/4200/WT-Summer2018.pdf#page=2.
