Sponsor spotlight: An exciting fall for Edmonds Rotary

Attorney General Bob Ferguson

Fall is such an exciting time for Edmonds – and we’re not even talking about how great it is to sip that first pumpkin spice latte or drag those sweaters from the back of the closet! And this goes for the Edmonds Rotary, which has a big October planned.

First – we are very excited to announce our first big event of the month: “Lunch with Bob Ferguson” on October 2nd. This event is limited to 200 seats, and online registration is required. The town hall-style meeting will take place at the Edmonds Theater; doors open at 11:30 and the program starts at 12:00. There is no cost for the event, but lunches may be purchased for $20 in advance when you register at www.edmondsrotary.com.

While most people know that Mr. Ferguson successfully blocked President Trump’s first executive order barring travel from seven Muslim majority nations and also won an important case for the rights of same-sex couples in Washington in an action against a Richland florist, they may not know that he formed the Wing Luke Civil Rights Unit, the first office within the Attorney General’s Office dedicated to protecting the civil rights of everyone in Washington. Mr. Ferguson has too many citizen protecting actions to list here, but we invite you to learn more about him at atg.wa.gov.

Joining Attorney General Ferguson in the lunch program will be Rotary District 5030 Governor Alan Merry. Merry will share highlights about the work being done both within the district – but also Rotary goals and accomplishments in our communities and the world.

The other BIG October event for not only Edmonds Rotary, but for our entire community, is the 2018 Edmondsopoly Community Auction, to be held at Holy Rosary Parish on October 6, 2018. We’re thrilled to partner with the Edmonds Rotary Daybreakers to produce one of the most popular local auctions of the year. And this year, there are some amazing items that are sure to raise your paddle, including:
A Rick Steves Europe Tour for two
A two-week vacation at any Shell Vacations Property
A “Kick Ass” Garden Bench with $350.00 worth of tools
A Paella dinner for 10 at a water view home in Edmonds

There will be almost 30 items on the bidding block – not to mention tons of silent auction items. And you do NOT want to miss the chance to take a one-week cruise for two. The Rotary is selling raffle tickets for just $25.00 each – or you can buy a book of 5 tickets for $100.. Imagine, paying $25.00 for a cruise!!! You don’t have to be present to win – contact Adrienne Miller at [email protected] for more details.

For more information about the auction, visit www.edmondsauction.com.

Edmonds Rotary meets at Salt and Iron the first 3 Tuesdays of the month at 11:30. Community members are invited…we’ll even buy you lunch. For our current lunch and event schedule or to learn more about our club, please visit EdmondsRotary.com.

  1. Sideshow Bob doesn’t even know the meaning of the word ‘and’…as in, if the 405 toll lanes don’t pay for themselves (they did) and, AND, maintain a 45 MPH average, then BY LAW they need to be removed. Sideshow Bob decided that wasn’t the case. I’d like to throw that $20 lunch in his face.
