After 21 years of serving terrific cuisine to an appreciative Edmonds, Chanterelle’s Randy and Brooke Baker are preparing to turn over ownership of one of our city’s most beloved restaurants.
Restaurateur Hoa Tran, who owns and operates three other independent restaurants in the Puget Sound area, has purchased Chanterelle. Tran plans to continue operating the restaurant without any major changes and will retain the current staff, which pleases the Bakers.
“Randy and I are so grateful for the Edmonds community that has been so supportive these 21-plus years,” Brooke Baker said. “There’s no place better, and we have no plans to move away. We’ve worked very hard nurturing Chanterelle‘s staff and diners day and night, striving to continually evolve. We knew that we could never rest on past success with the restaurant industry — it’s so different from what it was two decades ago.
“As for our plans for the future, we’re excited to spend time together and with our friends and family, going places, doing things, and all the stuff people do that don’t work all the time. (What a concept!) We will be here at the restaurant for a couple of weeks for the transition. Come say hi, and meet the new owner, but no need to say bye. We’ll see you all around town!”
