FIS honors Hekinan delegation with reception

Foundation for International Services honored the delegation from Edmonds’ Sister City of Hekinan, Japan, with a lunch reception on Oct. 31.

Celebrating its 40th year in business, FIS is a leading provider of international credential evaluations, expert opinions, and translation services worldwide. Every year, FIS provides thousands of evaluation reports that help clients reach global opportunities.

“We were honored to welcome the Hekinan delegation,” said FIS CEO Jack Hoover, “and celebrate 30 years of friendship between our cities. We enjoyed sharing our positive impact on global talent and businesses.”

During his remarks, Hoover mentioned that his first experience with international credential evaluations was in relation to Japanese transfer students, followed shortly by documents from India.

Another speaker, Edmonds Community College President Dr. Amit Singh, noted that 31 years ago, he had his credentials evaluated by FIS and then came to the U.S. He was named Edmonds CC’s president earlier this year.
