It takes a bold thief to attempt to break into a cash machine across from the Edmonds Police Station during daylight hours.
But that’s exactly what happened on Wednesday, Nov. 14 to the ATM located outside Edmonds City Hall.
According to Edmonds Police Sgt. Shane Hawley, the attempted theft occured during daytime hours between 1:53 p.m. and 3:05 p.m., when it was discovered.
“Looks like someone tried to pry into the side,” Hawley said in an email. “They also cut the power cord, probably to make sure any attempts at gaining access didn’t trigger an alarm.”
The thief failed to gain access, but the ATM was rendered inoperable.
Police have no suspects, Hawley said.
