More than 100 runners and at least a score of canines came out on a sunny Saturday morning to pound the pavement in support of the men and women of the Edmonds Police Department who put themselves on the line every day to protect us and keep our community safe.
“We had 104 registered runners today,” said Police Foundation treasurer Kimberly MacArthur. “The money we raise today helps support the Foundation’s mission to provide our police force with the most modern equipment, technology and training. Current projects include purchasing and assembling emergency supply kits and AED defibrillator machines.”
Top finishers and times were as follows:
1st Place – Brian Hanchett, 21:20
2nd Place – Dan Miller, 22:02
3rd Place – Phillip Decker, 23:16
4th Place – Cole Sargent, 24:26
5th Place – Jackie Hughes, 26:04
6th Place – Twins Angela and Danielle Gaviola, who crossed the finish line holding hands, 27:03
The foundation offered thanks to event sponsors First Financial NW Bank, My Edmonds News, N2 Publishing, The Boys and Girls Club, Starbucks, The Edmonds Bakery, and Coastal Community Bank for supporting this special community event.
“And I want to give a very special shout out to Myron Phillips of Edmonds,” said event organizer Valerie Claypool. “Every year Myron runs this event dressed as Santa Claus, and it just wouldn’t be the same without him.”

Hi, I’m submitting a correction. The person named Kendra Decker is actually Jackie Hughes. Same with the 5th place finish, also Jackie Hughes.
Thanks
Thanks for the correction — it’s fixed.
