Although the Hooded Merganser is a year-round resident of Western Washington, it is usually seen only in fall and winter in Edmonds. Pairs form in late fall and early winter. Bird Lore columnist Carol Riddell recently photographed these ducks in Edmonds. You can read more about the Hooded Merganser here: myedmondsnews.com/2015/02/bird-lore-hooded-merganser.
