Lose your power Monday night? You weren’t alone.
The Snohomish County PUD said that about 800 customers in Edmonds were without power — some of them overnight — after a car struck a power pole in the Firdale Village area Monday night.
According to PUD spokesman Neil Neroutsos, the outage occurred shortly before 10 p.m. Monday, as a result of the crash. PUD crews had to replace the pole, and power was restored at about 7 a.m. Tuesday morning.
“For some people it was about a nine-hour outage,” he said. “That’s not unusual for a pole replacement in the middle of the night.”
According to Edmonds police spokesman Sgt. Shane Hawley, there were no injuries in the collision. The driver was arrested for DUI.
