Prep basketball roundup: M-P edges Warrior boys; girls earn easy win over Tomahawks

Marysville-Pilchuck senior RaeQuan Battle scored 43 points – including his last two at the final buzzer – to lead the Tomahawks to a 55-53 win over the Edmonds-Woodway Warriors Friday at Edmonds-Woodway High School.

Battle, who has committed to play at the University of Washington, also had 19 rebounds, four steals, three blocks and a number of slam dunks to wow the crowd and sink the Warriors.

E-W’s Mutdung Bol scored a team-high 25 points, but it wouldn’t be enough to keep up with the Battle-led Tomahawks as M-P erased a 22-12 Warrior first quarter lead and then a 44-34 E-W lead after three quarters to steal the road victory.

In other Edmonds-Woodway results on Friday, four Lady Warriors reached double-figures in scoring as the team defeated the Marysville-Pilchuck Tomahawks 74-24 at Marysville-Pilchuck High School.

Adrienne Poling scored 17 points, Ingrid Fosberg and Brooke Kearney each tallied 13 points and Jadyn Waram added 11 points to help E-W lift their record to 4-1 overall, 2-0 in Wesco League play.
