Colton Walsh, Cole Nelson and Nick Buckley combined for 45 of the team’s 52 points as the Meadowdale Mavericks slipped past the Snohomish Panthers 52-38 in a Wesco League contest played Wednesday at Meadowdale High School.
Walsh and Nelson each scored 16 points while Buckley added 13 points in the Mavs’ win.
While Walsh, Nelson and Buckley provided the bulk of the offense for the Mavs, it was a total team effort on the defensive end of the court that helped earn the victory. The 38 points scored by Snohomish was its lowest output of the season so far, well below the 59 points per game the Panthers had averaged in their first four games of the year.
Wednesday’s victory was the fourth in a row for Meadowdale; the Mavs will go for their fifth straight on Wednesday, Dec. 19, when they host the Arlington Eagles, 7:15 p.m. at Meadowdale High School.
