Prep sports roundup: Lady Mavs beat Bearcats, 44-23; E-W swim surprises Shorecrest

It took awhile for the Meadowdale Lady Mavericks to get moving Tuesday night, but once they did they were able to run away with a win.

The Mavs earned a 44-23 victory over the visiting Monroe Bearcats in a non-conference game played at Meadowdale High School.

The Mavericks could only muster four points in the first quarter on Tuesday but increased their point production as the contest marched on, outscoring the Bearcats 30-12 in the second half to secure the victory.

Lilly Williams scored 16 points to lead Meadowdale; teammate Fatoumata Jaiteh added 10 points in the victory.

Meadowdale will next face the Everett Seagulls on Friday, Dec. 7, at Everett High School; tipoff is slated for 7:15 p.m.
