After losing the first match of the night, Edmonds-Woodway High School’s wrestlers came back and captured a lead they would keep, winning a 49-22 wrestling dual meet victory over Everett at home Tuesday.
In the first bout at 182 lbs, Everett’s Skyler O’Donahue defeated Warrior Luke Walker 11-2, giving Everett their only lead. The Warriors answered with a decision by Josh Brown at 195 and pins by George Kartano at 220 and Kemper Lee at 285.
The Seagulls won four more matches during the meet but it would not be enough to overcome Warrior pins by Ethan Nguyen (113), Baylor Denkinger (120), Howie Hare (138), and John Christin-Eriksen (170).
Other wrestlers winning for the Warriors were; Ousman Fatty(132) forfeit and Alex Rapelje (145) major decision.
The Warriors are on the road Thursday, Dec 20 at Mountlake Terrace for a double dual vs the Hawks and Archbishop Murphy. Wrestling starts at 5:45 p.m.
