What stays, what goes? Budget deliberations expected to dominate Dec. 4 Edmonds City Council meeting

Eliminating a federal lobbyist in Washington, D.C.? Deleting money to beef up sidewalk construction and street paving? Adding two new police officers for a drug task force, and a million dollars for the Edmonds Marsh?

The Edmonds City Council at its Dec. 4 business meeting will grapple with these and other proposals regarding Mayor Dave Earling’s 2019 draft city budget.

You can see the full list of proposed council amendments here and the administration’s response to those proposals here.

Also on the council agenda is a presentation on the city’s 2019 state legislative priorities, and — as part of the consent agenda — approval of eight appointments to the new City of Edmonds Youth Commission. (The council will meet at 6 p.m., prior to the regular meeting, to interview the youth commission candidates.)

The business meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers, Public Safety Complex, 250 5th Ave. N. You can see the complete meeting agenda here.
