The Meadowdale Lady Mavericks beat the visiting Shorewood Thunderbirds 54-27 in Wesco League girls basketball action Tuesday at Meadowdale High School.

The Mavs held Shorewood to single-digit scoring in each quarter, including just two points in the opening eight minutes of the game.

Lilly Williams led Meadowdale with 15 points; teammate Fatoumata scored 14 points in the victory. Sabrina Musye led the T-Birds with nine points.

At the Lynnwood Pool, the Mavs’ boys swim team was sunk by the Everett Seagulls 108-62. Max Khaperman and Caleb Volz earned individual event wins in the 100 yard backstroke and the 500 yard freestyle, but it would be enough for the Mavs to steal a team victory.
