The Edmonds-Woodway Warriors weren’t about to be the first to lose to the Archbishop Murphy Wildcats in Wesco League play, defeating the Wildcats 71-59 Wednesday in a contest played at Archbishop Murphy HIgh School in Everett.
Mutdung Bol led the Warriors with 15 points in the victory; Chinedu Acholonu recorded 13 while Elijah Thomas added 11 in the E-W win.
The Wildcats’ Sage Oliveria led all scorers in the game with 21 points while Cole Calnon contributed 12 points in the loss.
The setback dropped ABM’s Wesco League record to 0-8 in this, their first season in the league. E-W sits at 5-3 in league play, 9-5 overall.
The Warriors will next face Meadowdale on Friday, Jan. 16, at Edmonds-Woodway High School in the nightcap of the annual Rubber Chicken Night doubleheader. The E-W Lady Warriors tip off the even with a game against the Lady Mavs at 5:40 p.m.
