Warriors basketball roundup: Boys win, girls lose against Snohomish

Eleven different Warriors scored as the Edmonds-Woodway’s boys hoops team scorched the Snohomish Panthers 78-47 Friday at Edmonds-Woodway High School.

E-W’s Mutdung Bol led the scoring parade with 17 points; Brian Bunyatipanon added 11 points and Colin Whitney contributed 10 in the Warriors’ win.

Three Panthers reached double figures in scoring: Kolton Smith with 16 points and Tayte Conover and Jacob Brandvold with 10 points each.

Edmonds-Woodway will face a tougher test in its next game, when the Warriors meet the Arlington Eagles Wednesday, Jan. 9, at Arlington High School. Tipoff is slated for 7:15 p.m.

In other E-W action on Friday, the Warrior girls suffered their first Wesco League loss of the season at the hands of the Snohomish Panthers, who edged E-W 46-44 at Snohomish High School.

E-W’s Adrienne Poling led all scorers with 17 points, but Snohomish’s Courtney Perry and Maya DuChesne scored 16 and 15 respectively to push the Panthers to the victory.

The Warriors held a 40-33 lead after three quarters but could only muster four points in the final quarter as the Panthers went on to victory.
