Beaches follows the childhood friendship of a privileged debutante (Barbara Hershey) and struggling entertainer (Bette Midler). Directed by Garry Marshall, the film features the theme song “Wind Beneath My Wings”, which hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 charts and won GRAMMY Awards for Record of the Year and Song of the Year in 1990.
