Paddy Eger’s ‘Tasman’ a winner in London Book Festival contest

Edmonds resident Paddy Eger’s Tasman: An Innocent Convict’s Struggle for Freedom has won the YA category in the 2018 London Book Festival contest.

Inspired by actual convict records, the novel follows Ean, an Irish lad who’s sent half way around the world to serve a prison term in Port Arthur, Tasman for a crime he didn’t commit. His journey begins in Newgate prison, moves on to his shipboard adventures and takes us through his struggles once he lands in the brutal penal colony in Tasmania as he plans a daring escape.
