The Edmonds-Woodway Warriors girls basketball team put together one of their best defensive efforts of the season on Friday, holding the Shorewood Lady Thunderbirds to just 19 points and earning a 50-19 victory over the T-Birds in a Wesco League contest played at Shorewood High School.
Adrienne Poling scored almost as many points for E-W as the entire Shorewood team, recording 18 points in the win.
With the victory, the Warriors solidified their No. 5 spot in the 3A District 1 RPI, the ranking to be used to determine the seeding for the District 1 tournament that begins next week.
E-W has one more game in their regular season before district tourney play begins. The Warriors close out their regular season at home on Monday, Feb. 4, in a matchup against the Cedarcrest Red Wolves; tipoff is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
