Members of the Richmond Beach and Edmonds Running Club braved cold, icy conditions for their “Light the Night” fundraising run Tuesday to benefit the YWCA Pathways for Women shelter — and there is still time to donate.
Organizer Erin Zackey said the run raised more than $600, and also collected “many much-needed items for the Pathways shelter.” The runners have decided to make this a two-part event, with part 2 set for Tuesday, Feb. 26.
During the Feb. 26 run, which begins at 6:03 p.m. at Edmonds’ Salish Sea Brewing, runners will collect donations for the YWCA Pathways shelter for women.
Pathways Wish list:
Laundry detergent and bleach (small sizes)
Dish soap
Manual can openers
New pillows
Bath rugs
Twin and full-size sheets
Brooms/mops
Coffee makers and blenders
Batteries
Laundry baskets
Razors
Deodorant
Baby wipes
ORCA cards
Gas and grocery gift cards
In addition, Edmonds’ Hunni Co. will be participating in the Feb. 26 event, offering its new Kindness beverage for participants
Both Salish Sea Brewing (518 Dayton) and Hunni Co. in Salish Crossing “are happy to collect donations from now until the 26th,” Zackey added.
