Scene in Edmonds: Troop 319 for Girls makes history

Troop 319 for Girls

Edmonds-based Troop 319 for Girls made history with the Feb. 1 launch of Scouts BSA, celebrated with a four-hour kick-off. The potluck event focused on sign offs on rank requirements, receiving Scout handbooks and earning the Leatherwork merit badge, while families got to know one another. Nine girls attended the event along with two 10-year-old prospective members, organizers said.

Troop 319 says it is grateful to its charter organization, Edmonds United Methodist Church, for giving the new troop “a spacious meeting place and tremendous support.”
