Two ivy-pulling events set for April 20 in honor of Earth Day


In honor of Earth Day, an ivy-pulling party is scheduled for Southwest County Park this Saturday, April 20 from 9 a.m.-noon, sponsored by Snohomish County Parks and Recreation.

Bring hiking boots, work gloves and a pruning saw if you have one, and meet at the main parking lot along Olympic View Drive and 180th Street Southwest.

The Southwest County Park Earth Day event is in addition to announced earlier in Edmonds City Park from 9 a.m. to noon April 20, with tools and refreshments provided. All ages are welcome.

Some gloves, tools and refreshments will be provided, but please bring cutting and digging tools if you have them. Participants must sign in at the pavilion near the entrance to the park, where they will be directed to a work area. Dress for the weather, as this event will happen rain or shine.

City Park is located at 600 3rd Ave. S. in Edmonds. Parking is available inside the park or along 3rd Avenue.
