Senior Gunnar Whitelaw provided the big bat and just enough mound help to lead the Edmonds-Woodway Warriors to a 6-5 victory over the Archbishop Murphy Wildcats on Wednesday.
Whitelaw went 2-for-3 at the plate with two doubles and five RBI in the Wesco League contest played at Edmonds-Woodway High School. Whitelaw also took the mound in the fifth inning in relief and struck out five Wildcats to earn the pitching victory.
The win ended a four-game losing streak for the tough-luck Warriors, whose five losses this year have been by a total of six runs.
