What’s happening at the Edmonds Senior Center for April

Community Breakfast

Friday, April 5

8:30-9:30 a.m. in the Senior Center Dining Room

Cost: $5

Includes full menu of pancakes, strawberry compote, eggs and ham, biscuits and sausage gravy, orange juice, coffee and tea. Everyone is welcome, bring a friend.

AARP Tax Preparation

Fridays through April 12

10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Local AARP volunteers will be available on Fridays through April 12. For help filing your return, you must sign up for an appointment in person at the front desk. Appointments are 60 minutes in length and are free. Pick up your tax preparation packet at the front desk when you make your appointment. Be sure to complete the AARP Intake and Interview Form before you come to your appointment. You must bring Social Security cards for all individuals listed on your return, picture IDs for all taxpayers, and documentation of income (W-9, 1099, etc.) and deductions. We recommend that you bring last year’s tax return and any correspondence with the IRS in the last year.

Volunteer Appreciation Dinner

Thursday, April 11

5-7 p.m. in the Senior Center Dining room

Free for all Volunteers

Whether you volunteer one hour a month, one day a week or several times a year, all senior center volunteers are invited to join us as a thank you for all that you do for the center. Musical entertainment and a tasty baked salmon dinner complete with garlic mashed potatoes and dessert will be served. Please RSVP in the Admin Office.

Carepartnters Healthy Living Fair

Friday, April 26

10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Edmonds Church of God Gym, 8221 220th St. S.W., Edmonds

Free admission, plus screenings and giveaways from community businesses and wellness-based organizations. Lunch will be provided for 200 seniors courtesy of Fairwinds Brighton Court Lynnwood.

Take a trip and leave the driving to the senior center

Make new friends, see new places and experience new things, and don’t worry about parking or traffic. The senior center provides transportation and ticket/admission is included with the cost. Sign up over the phone with a credit card by calling 425-954-2521. Become a member and save when you sign up for these upcoming trips:

Wednesday, April 10: Island Adventures 3 Hour Gray Whale Tour.

Tuesday, April 16: Volunteer Park Conservatory & Grand Central Baking Co.

Friday, April 19: Tulip Fields, Roozengaarde, and Kiwanis Salmon BBQ.
