Looking for a summer job outdoors? Student conservation group now hiring

The Student Conservation Association (SCA) is seeking Edmonds area students aged 15 to 19 to serve on their summer Edmonds Urban Community Crew. The crew will work in Edmonds parks from July 8 to Aug. 16 helping with habitat restoration, trail maintenance, and other projects. Crew members also participate in a mandatory expense-paid wilderness camping trip.

SCA’s Northwest Summer Youth Crews are comprised of six to 10 youth members led by two adult field leaders. Crews work together on various conservation projects, cook together, share chores, and help sustain a healthy team. Members will also explore careers in land management and develop their leadership, team-building, and outdoor living skills. No experience is necessary and all training is provided. Applications will be accepted through June 1.

The Student Conservation Association has been providing opportunities for youth for more than 60 years, with a mission to build the next generation of conservation leaders and inspire lifelong stewardship of the environment and communities by engaging young people in hands-on service to the land.
