Prep softball: Panthers down Warriors

The Edmonds-Woodway Warriors closed out the home portion of their 2019 regular season with a 12-2 loss to the Snohomish Panthers Monday at Edmonds-Woodway High School.

The Panthers broke open a tight game by scoring 10 runs in the top of the fifth inning, then held the Warriors scoreless in the bottom of the frame to claim the mercy-rule shortened contest.

Despite the loss, E-W is still in position to possibly host a District 1 3A Softball Tournament play-in loser-out game later this week. But before the postseason begins, the Warriors will play their regular season finale on Tuesday, May 7, at Marysville-Pilchuck. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
