5th and Dayton intersection to be closed as soon as Wednesday

The City of Edmonds says that the 5th and Dayton intersection will be closed starting as soon Wednesday, June 12 — part of the Dayton Street Utility Improvements Project.

Over the past two weeks, crews have been working in the 3rd and 4th Avenue South intersections.  Crews are continuing to excavate the street to replace the aging and undersized utilities.

The 5th Avenue South and Dayton Street intersection will be closed to traffic from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. June 12, 13, 18, 19 and 20. During this work:

*        Through traffic will be restricted

*        The intersection will be open on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday during the Edmonds Art Festival

*        Access to businesses, driveways and parking lots will be maintained

*        The sidewalks at the 5th and Dayton intersection will be closed; pedestrian detours will be in place
