The GayLynne Ullerich Bicycle Extravaganza is set for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. this  Saturday June 8, at Seaview Elementary, 8426 188th St. S.W., Edmonds.

There will be a bicycle rodeo sponsored by Cascade Bicycle Club and the Edmonds Bicycle Advocacy Group. Free minor tune-ups will also be offered.

The annual event is named for late Edmonds School District teacher and bicycle enthusiast Gaylynne Ullerich. Known for promoting the Bikes in Schools program, bicycling to her teaching job at Madrona School, and promoting cycling in the community, Ullerich lost her life in 2012 in a tragic car accident.

Kids are invited to bring their own bike and helmet to the June 8 event or borrow a bike and helmet from the “bikes in schools” program.

There will also be a bike exchange. Bring in a bike that is too small and exchange it for a bigger bike (if available). Bicycles will also be accepted for donation.
