A summer community tradition, the first of two 2019 Edmonds Wine Walks got underway Saturday evening, with more than a dozen local merchants featuring wine tastings from select Washington boutique wineries poured by the vintners themselves. The event is a collaboration between Seattle Uncorked and Art Walk Edmonds (AWE), a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the Arts in Edmonds.
“We had more than 400 attendees this evening,” said organizer Rachel Dobbins. “This is one of our busiest events of the year, and a great way to support the arts in Edmonds. And I’ve gotta give a shout out to our great volunteers — it wouldn’t happen without them.”
After checking in and picking up their maps, commemorative wine cups and drink tokens, attendees wandered the streets and shops, pausing at “sip stops” to sample and learn about the various hand-crafted vintages directly from the winemakers.
The next Summer Wine Walk is scheduled for Aug. 6. More information is available here.
