Edmonds in Bloom will host a Garden Party event at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7 at the Edmonds Center for the Arts. The program honors volunteers and Garden Tour hosts and celebrates gardeners, gardens and floral activities that beautify the Edmonds community.
Award-winning food writer, radio personality and cooking instructor Nancy Leson will be the featured speaker at the event. Readers embraced her for nearly two decades as the restaurant critic and food columnist for The Seattle Times. Today, she conjures recipes and rejoinders as Food for Thought on Seattle/Tacoma NPR radio affiliate KNKX. Leson, an Edmonds resident, will talk about “The Romance vs. The Reality of Gardening.”
The Garden Delights Raffle drawing will take place at the event. The raffle includes an array of garden-themed prizes, including private garden tours, garden gear and décor, and Edmonds entertainment and dining. Raffle proceeds help support Edmonds in Bloom projects and activities.
The event is free and open to the public. Edmonds Center for the Arts is located at 410 4th Ave. N.
