Edmonds resident and Municipal Court Judge Linda Coburn and her partner Mary Reeder of Seattle took second place this past weekend at the 38th annual Seaside Beach Volleyball Tournament in Oregon in the masters 55-plus women’s doubles division.

Coburn credits the City of Edmonds Parks and Recreation’s recently upgraded beach volleyball court for providing a local place where she and friends have occasionally practiced. She also said she is lobbying the Washington State Senior Games and the National Senior Games to add beach volleyball as a sport to their next events.

“The beach volleyball court in Edmonds has the most amazing backdrop of our beautiful Puget Sound,“ Coburn said. “There are so many active seniors in Edmonds and the region. I hope others know about this great local court, make use of it it, and compete in the senior games. You are never too old to compete.”
