Reminder: Still time to register for Aug. 26 police foundation golf tournament

Late Edmonds Police Chief David Stern

Come join the Edmonds Police Foundation as it celebrates its 5th year of honoring the law enforcement men and women serving the Edmonds community with its annual David Stern Memorial Golf Tournament Monday, Aug. 26 at the Harbor Pointe Country Club in Mukilteo.

You can exchange golf swings with police officers, putter around and foster public support of first responders.

This is a shotgun start game with opportunity to compete for the longest drive, closest to the pin and more. There’s free coffee and the now-famous “hole in one” donuts donated by former caterer Nancy Fleck. Thirsty players will enjoy the beverage cart that travels around the course, followed by an award ceremony and luncheon.

The foundation is a nonprofit organization with a goal of supporting those who protect citizens and make Edmonds a better and safer place to live. Funds raised will support the purchase of equipment and professional development for public safety employees.
