Warriors sports roundup: Cross country, boys tennis, girls swim results for Sept. 18

Senior Jacob Willcox led the Edmonds-Woodway Warriors’ cross country squads by winning the boys’ race at a four-team meet held Wednesday in Snohomish.

Willcox ran the 5,000-meter course at Valley View Middle School in 16:00, more than 30 seconds faster than his closest competitor, Snohomish’s Joel Lepse.

The Panthers took home the boys’ team top spot, edging out second place E-W by just two points.

On the girls’ side, Ellie Gard and Jemma Willcox finished third and fourth respective to lead the Lady Warriors; the team as a whole placed second behind Snohomish.

In other E-W sports results, the Warriors’ boys tennis team fell to the undefeated Lake Stevens Vikings 5-2 on Wednesday. On Tuesday, the E-W girls swim team lost to Monroe 90-79.
