After a disappointing season last year, the Edmonds-Woodway Warriors volleyball team got their 2019 campaign off on the right foot on Tuesday, earning a 3-2 victory over the visiting Monroe Bearcats in the non-conference season opener played at Edmonds-Woodway High School.
The Warriors’ win came over a Bearcat team that had posted a 15-6 record last year and had qualified for the 2018 4A state championship tourney.
In other E-W sports results on Tuesday, the Warriors boys tennis team got past Snohomish 6-1 while the Lady Warriors soccer squad downed the Kamiak Knights 3-0.
